DCM Systems Announces New Product: Integrated RIS/PACS

Fremont, CA- August, 2009 - DCM Systems by eFotoXpress is proud to introduce its latest product line, Integrated RIS/PACS; an important addition to its product line. RISPACS is the integration of Radiology Systems with picture Archiving and Communications Systems.

The objective of the DCM Systems Integrated RIS/PACS is to implement a common shared Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) infrastructure.

The PACS component is a computer system that interfaces with any and all the medical imaging device (i.e., X-Ray, CT Scan, MRI, ultrasound, etc.) to capture the image in a digital format.

RIS component allows the hospital to monitor the patient's flow from check-in to exams to billing. In RIS processes, it provides scheduling of patients in-house or through a referring physician portal. The scheduler shows available slots and book appointments at the same time. The RIS also interfaces with the PACS component to link images from the study and the interpreted results making them available to doctors, referring physicians and other authorized users. Once the information is captured, the Medical Imaging department uses the information to complete the exam. As exams are completed they are interpreted by a radiologist and the results are recorded in the RIS. Our product provides dictation, voice recognition and transcription. The physician does not need to type or retype their reports, they can record the report and the speech recognition software transfers it into text. Reports can be easily distributed through fax, email or print. The system automatically generates charges, customizes client's billings statement.

RIS also interfaces with the existing hospital information systems to capture patient demographic and study (exam) orders.

"The best part of our Integrated RIS/PACS is the addition of management report module", says Mr. Sem Lucea, Product Development Engineer. "It automatically sends all information to manage hospitals performance. The management report shows exams volume per month or per year, demographics, referring physicians' volume, all charges and exam volumes per modality in graphs or in excel format".
