Electronic Data transfer is a core component of PACS where all patient information is automatically transferred from a modality to the server. This functions is used for organizing information for easy archiving and retrieval. Retrieval is done by accessing patients name (first or last), patient ID, date of study, type of modality, patient series, patient image number.
